Encyclis’ new Sustainability Report tracks positive impact in Energy-from-Waste operations

Encyclis has published its latest Sustainability Report, which tracks the positive impact of the company’s Energy-from-Waste operations in the UK Midlands.

The Sustainability Report measures Encyclis’ progress in 2025 against the triple bottom line framework of people, planet and performance. It is the third full Sustainability Report Encyclis has published since its inception.

Key achievements in 2025 included the start of construction on the UK sector’s first full-scale carbon capture plant, at Protos in Cheshire. During the year, Encyclis also strengthened its core operational cluster in the UK Midlands, recruited its first UK-based apprentices and completed the first full year of operations at its ash-to-aggregates processing facility in Northamptonshire.

In 2025, Encyclis safely and efficiently treated 1.46m tonnes of residual waste and generated enough baseload electricity to power 350,000 homes. In addition, 183,000 tonnes of bottom ash were processed at Encyclis’ dedicated plant in Wellingborough to produce secondary aggregates and recover metals for recycling.

“During 2025, we launched our first UK apprenticeship programme, reached financial close on our industry-leading carbon capture project and continued to optimise the performance of our core operational fleet of modern Energy-from-Waste facilities in the Midlands. Our latest Sustainability Report captures all of that progress and serves as a testament to the remarkable expertise and diligence of our outstanding workforce.”
